Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking a Senior Corporate Underwriter to review high-dollar proposals, set rates, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines. You will lead regional teams, mentor colleagues, and maintain underwriting manuals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role requires 8+ years of progressive underwriting experience, strong communication, and advanced MS Office skills. Remote work is available for Massachusetts-based candidates with generous pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8 Years Relevant and progressive experience; management experience preferred in Stop Loss underwriting.
• Advanced knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate risk acceptability within corporate guidelines and set appropriate rates and factor levels.
• Perform audits on quotations, new business, and renewals to ensure underwriting guideline compliance.
• Direct day-to-day underwriting of regional teams and provide guidance on underwriting questions.
• Educate and train colleagues in underwriting duties and responsibilities.
• Maintain department guidelines and underwriting manuals.
