You will analyze complex federal and state tax issues, write memoranda and analyses, and collaborate with national office professionals on multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree required.
• JD, LL.M. (Taxation), CPA, EA, or combination preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in corporate tax, partnership tax, M&A tax, tax controversy, or related specialty.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including drafting memoranda and tax analyses.
• Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Commitment to technical excellence and exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical memoranda, tax analyses, opinion support, and other written work addressing complex tax issues.
• Research federal income tax issues and strategies; provide technical advice to engagement teams and clients.
• Assist in tax advocacy and controversy services, including IRS notice responses and negotiations.
• Analyze tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and financings.
• Contribute to development of Baker Tilly's tax opinion and technical consulting practice.
• Create internal/external thought leadership, articles, presentations, webinars, and training materials.
• Collaborate with international tax, accounting methods, SALT, ASC 740, and other practices on multidisciplinary projects.
