Qualifications

• 4-year degree required
• JD, LL.M. (Taxation), CPA, EA, or combination preferred
• Three or more years of experience in corporate tax, partnership tax, M&A tax, tax controversy, or related specialty preferred
• Demonstrated experience researching and analyzing complex federal income tax issues
• Strong written and verbal communication, including drafting memoranda and analyses
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical memoranda, tax analyses, opinion support, and other written work addressing complex tax issues
• Research federal income tax issues and strategies; provide technical advice to engagement teams and clients
• Assist in tax advocacy and controversy services, includes IRS notice responses and penalty abatements
• Analyze tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and financings
• Support development of Baker Tilly's tax opinion and technical consulting practice
• Develop internal and external thought leadership, articles, presentations, webinars, and training materials
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within corporate, partnership, and controversy practices
