Qualifications

• 4-year degree required
• License eligible required
• 3+ years of experience in corporate tax, partnership tax, M&A tax, tax controversy, or related specialty
• Demonstrated experience researching and analyzing complex federal income tax issues
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Commitment to technical excellence and client service

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical memoranda, tax analyses, opinion support, and other written work products addressing complex tax issues
• Research federal income tax issues and strategies and provide technical advice to engagement teams and clients
• Assist in tax advocacy and controversy services on civil matters and represent clients for IRS notices and negotiations
• Assist with tax analysis of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, financings, and internal restructurings
• Support development and growth of Baker Tilly’s tax opinion and technical consulting practice
• Develop internal and external thought leadership, articles, presentations, webinars, and training materials
• Collaborate with team members and senior leaders within corporate, partnership, and controversy practices
