Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Senior Corporate Process Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Process Engineering Manager.

The main objective is to provide process engineering services in support of optimization and continuous improvement of our facilities. Lead capital projects, review PFDs, mass and energy balances, P&IDs, perform process optimization for asphalt and ISO/TPO plants, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with ASME B31.3 and related standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7–15 years of relevant work experience as a Process Engineer.
  • P.Eng. licensure is a requirement.
  • Fluent in English; excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel across Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process engineering design and execution on medium to large capital projects.
  • Review deliverables (PFDs, mass and energy balances, P&IDs) prepared by junior/intermediate engineers.
  • Carry out process optimization for asphalt, thermal oil systems, and ISO/TPO plants.
  • Consult with plant engineers to prepare specifications and present findings.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers; collaborate on capital investment projects.
  • Create, modify, and execute functional test plans for automated systems.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
  • Support core values and leadership behaviours.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the process engineering design and execution on medium to large capital projects
  • Responsible for reviewing process engineering deliverables (PFDs, mass and energy balances, theory of operations, P&IDs) prepared by junior and intermediate engineers
  • Carry out process optimization studies of industrial plants, with a focus on asphalt, thermal oil systems, and ISO/TPO plants
  • Consult and negotiate with plant engineers to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings
  • Work alongside other engineers in capital investment projects
  • Create, modify, and execute functional test plans of automated systems
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA)
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, helping them navigate technical challenges and grow their expertise within the team
  • Support IKO’s core values and leadership behaviours
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 7 to 15 years of relevant work experience as a Process Engineer
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and TSSA rules and regulations is an asset
  • Experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methods is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
  • P.Eng. is a requirement
  • Six Sigma certification is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage short and long-term projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (must be fluent in English)
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Must have excellent planning and time management skills
  • Must be able to travel across Canada and the United States
