Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to lead QA metrics and drive improvements across the production process in a manufacturing environment in Texas.

The ideal candidate has a technical engineering background, 5 years in QA, Six Sigma and Lean, and proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field with chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial process manufacturing environment in a QA role.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong data-driven mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages quality assurance metrics to measure opportunities for improvement, progress on goals and accountability for performance.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots and drives resolution of production quality deficiencies and problems.
  • Works with the Process Engineer to reduce variation and eliminate waste in plant processes.
  • Monitors quality impact of new production processes, methods or equipment.
  • Identifies relevant quality training needs and implements training.
  • Implements ongoing quality improvement processes and procedures with interdepartmental teams.
  • Manages and audits the planning and execution of daily lab quality assurance testing and production quality testing.
  • Monitors vendor compliance to quality standards.
  • Designs, manages and controls documentation and reporting procedures as well as KPI progress in QA.
  • Reviews customer claims identifying root causes and leads corrective action plans with the process engineer and the Operations team.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE;

  • Designs, manages and controls documentation and report procedures as well as the communication of progress results to plant Key Performance Indicators in the area of Quality.
  • Reviews customer claims identifying root causes and leads the development and implementation of corrective action plans in conjunction with the process engineer and the Operations team.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;
  • Post-secondary education in a technical field with a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial process manufacturing environment in a quality assurance role with hands‑on experience with quality management systems.
  • Experience in statistical process control, process optimization and continuous improvement including experience with Six sigma and Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrates values of integrity, respect for others accountability and a strong bias for action
  • Able to achieve results individually and as a member of a team
  • Proven time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data-driven
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills
