Job summary

We are seeking an experienced supervisor to lead a manufacturing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, efficient operations on the shop floor. The role focuses on changing performance through leadership, root cause analysis and training, with a proven track record of engaging employees and delivering operational improvements in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking and leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with Workday is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety and performance improvement efforts on the shop floor.
  • Facilitate root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
  • Champion hazard identification and risk assessment programs.
  • Foster employee engagement and a positive safety culture.
  • Coordinate training and ensure compliance documentation.
  • Maintain production reports and metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Leading a positive change effort to improve performance by motivating, recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities
  • Actively facilitating and participating in Root Cause Analysis of issues negatively impacting safety/quality/performance, and ensuring effective execution and sustainability of corrective actions
  • Championing hazard identification, evaluation and control through behavior‑based safety and risk assessment programs
  • Leading daily safety share, encouraging and recognizing all safety behavior and leading by example
  • Increasing employee engagement and improving the culture climate through participation in continuous improvement (getting suggestions, reporting problems, participating in team problem‑solving sessions)
  • Ensuring employees receive training on processes relating to safety, quality and production. Conducting training sessions as needed and tracking participation. Regularly requesting feedback from trainees to ensure a high‑quality experience
  • Job training with standard work description, SOP and WI safety training, STOP, FLRA and all other safety programs
  • Resolving any conflict immediately and ensuring behavior is in line with IKO values. Asking for help if needed
  • Ensuring proper documentation and completing reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or management
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands‑on problem‑solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability to successfully manage a diverse group of employees
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation), analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team‑building talent
  • Flexible to work varying shift and days
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset
