Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an attorney to join its corporate group through the Professional Track Attorney program. The role focuses on emerging growth companies and their investors, with at least 5 years in venture capital financings, M&A, and governance matters. This position is fully remote and open to all U.S.

office locations. Responsibilities include client communication, due diligence on transactions, negotiating financings, mentoring junior lawyers, and contributing to business development

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of Emerging Growth/Venture Capital experience.
• Direct AmLaw 100 firm experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NVCA, Series Seed, Y Combinator documents.
• Experience negotiating and managing preferred stock, bridge and SAFE financings.
• Ability to manage due diligence on M&A transactions and venture financings.
• Experience advising clients on corporate governance matters.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with partners, lawyers, clients, staff and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer calls, and reply to correspondence by deadlines.
• Analyze complex legal issues and apply legal principles to facts.
• Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality work product.
• Be available to ensure timely delivery during business hours, evenings, and weekends.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and staff.
• Travel as required for client meetings, tribunals, or business development.
• Foster client relationships and observe firm policies.
