Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an attorney to join its corporate group as part of our Professional Track Attorney program. This attorney will focus primarily on working with emerging growth companies and the institutional investors that support them.

The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of experience supporting venture capital financings, M&A transactions, and a variety of day-to-day corporate governance matters. This position is fully remote and open to all U.S. office locations.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 5–8 years of Emerging Growth/Venture Capital experience.
• Familiarity with NVCA, SeriesSeed, and Y Combinator documents.
• Experience negotiating preferred stock, bridge, and SAFE financings.
• Ability to manage due diligence on M&A and venture financings.
• Experience advising on corporate governance matters.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with partners, lawyers, clients, staff, and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer calls, and reply to correspondence promptly.
• Analyze complex legal issues and apply legal principles to facts.
• Provide timely, accurate, and well-reasoned work product.
• Be available during business hours, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and staff.
• Observe all firm policies and practices.
