The Mutual Group is seeking a Corporate Counsel to shape and oversee regulatory, compliance and legal areas for our organization. The role requires JD, active bar membership, and 5+ years in corporate law with strong analytical and negotiation skills.

You will advise senior management, collaborate across departments, and manage a wide range of matters from employment to IP, contracts and policy governance. Hybrid/in-office arrangement within 30 miles of our home office is expected.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience with a focus on corporate matters.
• Experience in regulated industries, preferably insurance.
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• HR & Employment Legal Advisory: advise HR on employment matters and policy updates.
• Corporate Litigation & Disputes: assist with litigation strategy and coordination with outside counsel.
• Intellectual Property: manage IP portfolio and coordinate filings via outside counsel.
• Marketing & Corporate Communications: review advertising and external communications for legal sufficiency.
• Corporate Policy Management: oversee policy framework and governance processes.
• Commercial & Corporate Contracts: review vendor and service agreements and improve standard terms.
