Nextpower is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel, Commercial Contracts to partner with our business leadership. The role can be based in Nashville, TN, Fremont, CA, or remote, and will negotiate complex commercial agreements while managing risk in a fast-paced tech environment.

The ideal candidate has a JD, active US bar, 6–8 years of experience, and demonstrated ability to advise executives and lead cross-functional contract work.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Active U.S. state bar membership.
• 6–8 years of legal experience in tech or related field.
• Experience advising executives on contracts and strategy.
• Ability to function as a hands-on legal generalist in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide sound legal advice to executive leadership and mitigate risk.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and ancillary agreements.
• Support legal commercial team and other internal business units.
• Develop/process improvements and update internal playbooks/templates.
• Manage outside counsel and maintain SLA discipline.
• Own specific legal projects and build expertise for customer contracts.
• Contribute to Legal Department discussions on policies and regulatory changes.
• Keep abreast of evolving laws impacting customer contracts.
