Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Core Neutronics Engineer to support the nuclear analysis team across reactor design projects. You will perform neutronics analyses and coordinate with mechanical, thermal-hydraulic, and safety disciplines to accelerate development.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or physics, excellent written and spoken communication, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance.
• MS in Nuclear Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of advanced reactor designs and fuel/coolant systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, thermal-hydraulic, and safety teams.
• Contribute to studies from preconceptual through final design and operation.
• Support core neutronics, coupled with thermal hydraulics and structural analyses.
