Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) seeks a Thermal Hydraulic Core Design Engineer for on-site work in Lynchburg, VA. You will perform thermal analyses on advanced core designs, interact with neutronic and mechanical engineers, and help develop thermal modeling tools.

A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of related experience are required, with a master’s preferred. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOE/DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal analysis of advanced core designs with various fuel systems, cycles and coolants.

• Develop and support core thermal modeling, simulation and optimization.
