Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, nuclear, or similar) or physics.
• 15+ years of related work experience.
• Technical background in engineering design, fluid systems, thermodynamics, and process instrumentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to self-direct with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE or DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify system requirements and prepare system design documentation.
• Select components and prepare specifications for detailed design and procurement.
• Design piping systems including line sizing and pressure drop calculations.
• Lead creation of output documentation (P&IDs, data sheets, test docs).
• Use regulations and standards (e.g., ASME) for fluid systems.
• Coordinate with systems, electrical, I&C, mechanical equipment designers, and test engineers.
• Prepare and present system design results to stakeholders.
