Job summary

Framatome is seeking a qualified engineer for a design/analysis role in neutronics and reactor physics in Lynchburg, VA. You will perform non-standard engineering tasks, work autonomously, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards to support US PWR operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; other related fields may be accepted.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
• Good communication to convey detailed technical data.

• Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
• Displays informal leadership characteristics.
• Shows a questioning attitude and self-checking.
• Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-standard engineering, varied engineering, and new-to-you assignments typically in design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, specifications, field tasks and quality-event resolution.
• Receives minimal instruction and works autonomously on most assignments.
• Ensures compliance with government regulations and engineering standards.
• Evaluates and applies techniques and criteria for tasks not previously performed.
• Develops knowledge of organization, processes and customers.
• Works on special projects as directed.
• Suggests process improvements and improvements to procedures.
• Maintain a safety mindset.
• Perform core-related safety analyses to support licensing and operation of US PWRs.
