Job summary

GCI Communication Corp's Core Network Technician IV in Alaska will oversee operation and maintenance of core networks to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability, including proactive monitoring and rapid response to issues both remotely and on-site.

You will collaborate with support teams and engineering to install, test, and troubleshoot network elements across multiple vendors, manage changes under policy, and mentor junior technicians while upholding safety and security

Qualifications

• Requires deep knowledge of telecom core transport networks.
• 10+ years of increasing responsibilities in telecom environments.
• Ability to operate in a 24/7 Alaska-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational checks on Core Network elements to ensure optimal performance.
• Coordinate upgrades, testing, and fault resolution with vendors and engineering teams.
• Monitor SLAs, address issues, and escalate as needed to resolve service disruptions.
• Maintain system documentation and change management records for all activities.
• Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and support groups.
