Job summary

GCI Communication Corp. seeks a Core Network Technician IV to operate and maintain the company’s core networks, ensuring high availability and reliability across multi-vendor platforms.

You will monitor, troubleshoot, upgrade, and document network changes while coordinating with TAC, BTS, and engineering to meet SLAs. This advanced role requires deep telecom expertise, strong problem-solving, and a commitment to safety in Alaska’s challenging environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 10+ years in telecom central office or related
• Experience with multi-vendor networks and proactive maintenance
• Strong knowledge of telecom protocols, safety, and change management

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational checks and preventative maintenance on Core Network elements
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate with support teams
• Document changes, manage tickets, and communicate status during outages
• Provide guidance and training to junior technicians
