Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Cook to prepare entrees, sides, and specialty items per recipes and HACCP guidelines. The role supports patient services, café, catering, and physician lounge needs while ensuring high-quality presentation and safe food handling.

The Senior Cook will also assist in other food service areas as needed and contribute to staff training, production planning, and customer-focused service during daily operations and high-profile events.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare or hotel food service cooking experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Handlers Permit required (TXDSHS/ANSI approved).
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cooks entrées, sides and specialty dishes following recipes and HACCP guidelines.
• Prepares specialty dishes for catered events and physician dinners.
• Maintains production records and cooling charts; adheres to appearance standards.
• Coordinates with production and food service staff to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery.
