Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Cook responsible for high-volume, high-quality food service for patients, staff and visitors. You will handle hot and cold production, follow recipes, garnish and package, and ensure service standards and compliance with HACCP guidelines.

You will work with Sr Cook and Catering staff to ensure on-time preparation, communicate menu changes to management, and uphold food safety, sanitation, and cost-control practices while supporting department goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of food service/cooking experience.
• Food Handlers Permit from TXDSHS/ANSI approved course.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold foods according to recipes and schedules.
• Ensure high quality and timely food preparation.
• Communicate changes to management regarding menu items.
• Maintain professional interactions with patients, family and staff.
• Monitor temperatures and sanitation to HACCP standards.
