Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood seeks a Sous Chef to oversee daily food production for Patient Food Service, Physicians Dining Room, Cafeteria and Catering in a high-volume hospital setting.

You will lead a team, ensure HACCP compliance, assist in menu development and coordinate large events, with rotating early schedules and weekend coverage as needed. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Culinary Arts or related technical degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional culinary leadership in a high-volume setting.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, sanitation, and presentation.
• Food Service Manager’s Certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food production for Patient Food Service, Physicians Dining Room, Cafeteria and Catering.
• Supervise staff, hire, coach, and document evaluations.
• Assist with menu development and coordination of large catered events.
• Promote positive patient interactions and service excellence.
• Monitor attendance and overtime using facility procedures.
