Job summary

Gaylord Hotels in Nashville, TN, is seeking an experienced Convention Services Manager who will support the Assistant Director by coordinating operations for complex conventions and events.

You will supervise planning, communicate group specifications to departments, and help improve client satisfaction while maximizing revenue.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED with 6 years in event management, food and beverage, sales or related area.
• Or a bachelor’s degree with 3 years experience in event management or related area.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate Convention Services activities for planning, supervising and executing events for more complex and high touch groups.
• Communicate group specifications to operational departments and ensure execution per guidelines.
• Partner with senior leadership to implement process improvements to increase client satisfaction and efficiency.
• Forecast group revenues according to established guidelines.
• Promote use of space and maximize group revenue by referring services and sub-contractors.
• Oversee training and development for Convention Services staff and maintain current industry knowledge.
• Plan and develop convention programs, resumes, agendas, and services using the Sales and Catering system.
• Host planning and site inspection meetings as per departmental guidelines.
• Promote client satisfaction through smooth execution of conventions as measured by surveys.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
