Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. seeks a seasoned Controls Technician for the day shift (7:00am–3:30pm, Mon–Fri) in the southwest suburban Atlanta area.

The role involves designing cells, integrating controls, and installing automated equipment, plus building and programming PLC panels to run systems. You will troubleshoot and maintain production controls, work with engineers and the production team, perform preventative maintenance, and train others on installation and service.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience
• PLC programming with ability to interpret PLC programs
• Wiring a 9-lead motor and stress testing windings
• Identifying data plate information for specing components
• Familiarity with sensors (PNP, NPN, loop-powered, dry contact)
• Analog control experience (4-20mA, 0-10V)
• Ladder logic troubleshooting
• Panel building
• Electrical troubleshooting and robotic exposure
• Safety circuit integration and compliance

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot pneumatics and hydraulics per schematics
• Install, program, or repair PLC and robot controllers
• Build PLC panels and get systems up and running
• Troubleshoot and maintain automated production equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and upgrades
• Train others on installation and servicing of equipment
• Collaborate with engineers and production to meet output goals
• Disassemble/reassemble equipment to replace defective parts
