Job summary

Talent With Heart in the southwest suburban Atlanta area is seeking a skilled Controls Technician for a day shift (7:00am–3:30pm, Mon–Fri). You will participate in cell design, integrate controls, install and program automated equipment, and get systems up and running.

Responsibilities include building PLC panels, wiring motors, troubleshooting PLCs and robots, performing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with engineers and production teams to meet output targets.

Qualifications

• Desire at least 6 years of related experience.
• PLC programming with confidence in using clues within the PLC program.
• Comfortable programming a machine process from scratch.
• Comfortable wiring a 9-lead motor and stress testing windings.
• Ability to read a motors data plate and select control components.
• Familiarity with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, dry contact.
• Analog control familiarity: 4-20mA and 0-10V.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting.
• Panel building and electrical experience.
• Some robotic experience and safety circuit integration.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Pneumatics: Install air logic controls from prints or schematics.
• Hydraulic: Troubleshoot circuits with valves, cylinders, and pressure controls.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems using computer.
• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
• Use fabrication equipment knowledge to complete maintenance tasks.
• Operate equipment or oversee operation.
• Analyze and categorize events within the equipment.
• Work with engineers and production to achieve desired output.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and routine upgrades/inspections.
• Repair machine controls, systems, and tools as needed.
• Disassemble or reassemble equipment to replace defective parts.
• Train others to install, use, and service equipment.
