Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Controls Systems Engineer for a role combining office engineering and field commissioning in the Greater Seattle Area. You will design control systems, develop PLC/HMI/SCADA solutions, and troubleshoot across multiple PLC platforms and industrial networks.

The position requires strong electrical engineering fundamentals, hands-on PLC experience (Allen-Bradley preferred), and travel to customer sites for startup and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field.
• Experience designing electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Hands-on PLC programming experience, preferably Allen-Bradley.
• Experience developing HMI and SCADA applications.
• Knowledge of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profibus, Profinet).
• Familiarity with UL 508A, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial control systems, including electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
• Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications for automation projects.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Configure and commission VFDs, soft starters, motors and drives.
• Configure industrial networks using EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profibus, Profinet.
• Perform factory testing, startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Support scheduling, change orders, documentation, and customer service.
• Maintain compliance with applicable electrical/automation standards.
