Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Controls Project Engineer to design, develop, and commission automated process systems. You will focus on PLC programming, control panel engineering, HMI/SCADA development, and project execution within a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate has hands-on controls engineering experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support projects from design through startup and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of controls experience.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation or Siemens PLC platforms (Studio 5000, Logix500 or similar).
• Experience with control panel design, electrical schematics and industrial control systems.
• Working knowledge of HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk View or Ignition).
• Ability to read P&IDs, project specifications, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and test PLC programs on Rockwell/Siemens platforms.
• Interpret project specs, P&IDs and control requirements for system design.
• Create control narratives, functional descriptions, loop drawings, and related docs.
• Configure HMI/SCADA applications for operation and diagnostics.
• Design control panel schematics, enclosure layouts and electrical documentation.
• Prepare panel layouts, BOMs, and submittal packages.
• Coordinate with project management, drafting, manufacturing, purchasing, and service teams.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, debugging and customer training.
• Manage engineering deliverables across multiple projects with quality and schedule.
