Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Senior Controls Product Manager to lead the Controls Product & Enablement team in the Controls Discipline. You’ll own the core risk lifecycles, prototype automated workflows, and drive AI-enabled real-time risk intelligence across Engineering, Data, and Risk teams.

You’ll work hands-on to turn requirements into MVPs, then partner with Engineering to scale. Distributed UK role with London presence and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• You think like a Product Manager: you obsess over user problems, prioritization, UX, and MVPs.
• Hands-on builder: comfortable with data, automation, and prototyping a working MVP.
• AI-curious & practical: experiment with AI/LLMs to automate tasks.
• Understand risk & controls: knowledge of control design, RCAs, issues.
• Thrive in ambiguity: start from first principles in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience leading change programmes in Financial Services controls.

Responsibilities

• Own the Controls Product Roadmap, vision, strategy, and backlog.
• Prototype and build automated workflows, integrations, and low-code solutions.
• Pioneer AI in risk management and automated evidence gathering.
• Design real-time risk intelligence with data triggers and alerts.
• Drive adoption with intuitive UI/UX and self-serve enablement.
• Lead two data/automation specialists and maintain momentum.
