Job summary

Monzo is expanding its Credit Oversight team and seeks a Credit Risk Oversight Manager to help grow lending safely and provide independent assurance across the lifecycle.

You will analyze data, develop monitoring metrics, and work with stakeholders to shape lending strategies while maintaining the Credit Risk Framework. This role offers UK-wide distributed work with a London base option.

Qualifications

• Strong background in credit risk management within consumer or small business lending.
• Analytical skills to interrogate data and look for early indicators of trends.
• Hands-on experience with credit risk scorecards and NPV models for strategy development.
• Solid technical toolkit; SQL is a must-have, with Looker/PowerBI/Tableau as a plus.
• Interest in exploring AI tools to enhance credit and risk management processes.
• Ability to communicate problems and solutions clearly to non-experts.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing oversight of credit risk - analyze performance and develop monitoring metrics.
• Partner with first line of defence to support strategy changes and new product launches.
• Deliver data-driven insights and counter-proposals to inform management decisions.
• Lead second line assurance work on thematic reviews.
• Collaborate with model validation and development teams to understand underpinning models.
• Contribute to stress-testing and forecasting within the Credit Risk Framework.
• Maintain and embed the Credit Risk Framework across the business.
• Promote a balanced and proportionate approach to risk management across the company.
