Job summary

Martinrea is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design, configure, and deploy Ignition-based SCADA systems on automotive manufacturing lines. You will define corporate standards and support multi-team collaboration to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Required STEM degree with 5+ years in manufacturing/automation; strong PLC experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and programming skills (Python, React, MQTT) are essential. Travel to plants will be required.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with at least 5 years in manufacturing/automation, tooling, and program management.
• Experience with Python, React, FastAPI, MQTT is a plus.
• Experience developing applications in a team environment.
• Robot programming experience (prefer Fanuc).
• PLC experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens.
• Familiar with IT networking and IoT devices.
• Excellent communication in English and demonstrated leadership.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop Corporate Standards, scope of work, design criteria and project standards.
• Provide expertise on best practices for integrating large scale SCADA systems using Ignition.
• Contracting and managing 3rd party integrators for deployment of SCADA networks.
• Troubleshooting scripts, SQL queries, OPC connection issues, network issues, etc.
• Coordinating tasks with Corporate Assembly and Controls Engineers and work with a wide array of technologies from equipment PLCs/robots to high level IT applications.
• Prioritizing tasks on time requirement and urgency
• Investigating Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC code to understand and improve the data being sent to SCADA
• Design, Develop, and Integrate Andon Vision Screens and Perspective Screens
