Job summary

American Battery Solutions Inc. in Ohio seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the controls strategy for existing and new machinery, delivering reliable PLC/HMI systems and continuous improvement across the plant.

You will guide development, troubleshoot complex control issues, and drive MES/SQL integration, barcode systems, and electrical standards compliance while supporting weekend/ off-shift work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or controls engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of control engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Expert knowledge of PLC, HMIs, relays, contactors, servos, bar code systems, database storage, vision systems.
• Experience programming Allen Bradley, Ignition, Keyence sensors/cameras, SQL, Fanuc robots, AutoCAD Electric.
• Experience with TS 16949 and ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of new controls systems for new equipment and improvements.
• Troubleshoot controls issues on machinery and equipment.
• Lead PLC/Controls code management and upgrade projects.
• Support MES and SQL Server database implementation and maintenance.
• Support process and machinery capability studies and equipment installations.
• Ensure equipment meets electrical standards and safety requirements.
• Travel to equipment integrator sites as required.
