Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Michigan is seeking a senior electrical controls engineer to lead installation, upgrades and continuous improvement of automated systems. You will read, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs, design electrical schematics, and collaborate with manufacturing to resolve quality issues.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or 5+ years), knowledge of Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, robotics, and HMI software, plus strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or 5+ years in automotive manufacturing; strong PLC knowledge.
• Experience with HMI programming and networking (Ethernet/IP, RS232, etc.).
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and pursue continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute new installations, upgrades, and improvements.
• Reads and troubleshoots PLC programs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
• Work with Manufacturing to resolve quality issues.
• Develop and maintain electrical control schematics and documentation.
• Support Factory 4.0 initiatives.
