Job summary
Briggs & Stratton seeks a senior Controls & Automation Engineer to lead PLC-based control system design, programming, and troubleshooting for manufacturing and test equipment. You will develop and support HMI/SCADA systems, design electrical panels, and lead projects to improve productivity, quality, safety, and reliability.
You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Product Engineering, and Operations to implement automation strategies and drive continuous improvement across
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation engineering.
- Minimum seven years of professional engineering experience in manufacturing controls/automation.
- Experience designing and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based control systems for manufacturing and test equipment.
- Develop and support HMI, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
- Lead automation projects to improve productivity, quality, safety, and reliability.
- Support product development with DFx reviews and manufacturing requirements.
- Lead root cause investigations of electrical systems and automation failures.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
