Prysmian in Taunton, MA is seeking an experienced electrical/controls engineer to manage and optimize plant electrical systems, write and debug PLC logic, and document all work for knowledge sharing across the Electrical Team. You will support maintenance, drive improvements, and ensure safety and reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualificações

• 5 years minimum experience in system engineering role.
• Advanced knowledge of motor controls and drives (AC, DC and VFD), PLC and relay-based systems.
• Able to read and/or create PID drawings and install/implement control devices from engineered drawings.
• Experience with PLC programming; Wonderware a plus.
• Extended work hours may be required to meet production demands and avoid downtime.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to work in varying seasonal temperatures within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, evaluate and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Develop, write, and de-bug control logic for machine control, make design modifications and improvements to complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Document all control logic work; ensure documentation is current and accessible.
• Prepare reports and provide feedback to management to improve operations and reliability.
• Observe and follow safety rules, EHS policies.
• Develop knowledge of wire and cable equipment and processes.
• Provide electrical assistance when needed.
• Provide engineering support and direction to maintenance for electrical equipment.
• Manage projects including cost estimations, designs, approvals, procurement, installation, startup and cost control.
• Develop and maintain control system and electrical drawings.
• Analyze electrical schematics to components for repairs.
• Utilize programming devices to analyze PLC programs for failures or improvements.
• Maintain records of process variables and ensure programs are clear.
• Direct maintenance in troubleshooting and repair of AC/DC drive systems.
• Troubleshoot plant machinery to support maintenance and production.
• Read/interprets schematics and literature to improve reliability.
• Provide recommendations for upgrading system controls.
• Provide basic to advanced training to engineers and maintenance staff.
• Consider energy efficiency in equipment selection and upgrades.
• Operate in an ISO environment with quality, safety or energy requirements.
• Other tasks as required.
