Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the manufacture of Medium and Low Voltage Cable in Texas. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting live production equipment, maintaining PLC/HMI programs, and aiding maintenance and operations in improving safety and reliability on the plant floor.

The ideal candidate will have strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Modicon, or Siemens PLCs, and a solid understanding of electrical safety

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or CS or related technical degree.
• 2-4 years hands-on automation and electrical systems experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot live electrical circuits and control systems.
• Knowledge of PLC platforms: Rockwell, Modicon, Siemens; safety practices.
• Experience with energized equipment up to 480V preferred (240V min).
• Commitment to safety procedures and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and support PLC and HMI programs for manufacturing.
• Provide automation support for production, including off-hours shifts.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control issues on the plant floor.
• Inspect, install, repair, and calibrate automation equipment and devices.
• Assist commissioning, startup, testing, and optimization of new equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance to implement solutions and mentor staff.
• Drive improvements in safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Maintain backups and critical files per plant standards.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout.
