Job summary

Schreiber Foods is seeking a Controls Engineer (or Senior Controls Engineer) for its Carthage, Missouri facility. The role focuses on automation optimization, maintenance training, and capital project execution in a 100% on-site environment.

It includes leadership in SCADA/HMI/MES development and strong collaboration with safety and quality teams to ensure processes meet customer requirements. Eligible partners may receive extensive relocation and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Typically requires 5–7 years of professional experience in electrical and controls engineering in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Deep understanding of SCADA, specifically Ignition Vision and Perspective.
• Strong experience with control system programming and electrical system design.
• Proficiency reading electrical drawings, schematics, and automation documentation.
• Ability to identify issues, develop practical solutions, and implement to completion.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts in business terms.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-based environment.
• Willingness to support operations during non-typical hours.

Responsibilities

• Execute Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls projects against commitments (cost, schedule, performance).
• Coach and train plant maintenance team on electrical automation topics.
• Manage and oversee performance of electrical and engineering contractors.
• Improve production efficiency and uptime through controls optimization opportunities.
• Monitor and maintain plant control systems, including network health and obsolescence management.
• Establish and maintain electrical, automation, and controls standards.
• Develop SCADA/HMI/MES and data reporting solutions using scripting and databases.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Quality Plans and customer requirements.
