Barry-Wehmiller’s BW Design Group in Philadelphia seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer II to develop automation solutions for high-speed manufacturing processes. You will design control systems, program PLCs, and collaborate with clients and vendors to ensure reliable startup and commissioning.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in industrial automation, knowledge of UL508A, and strong technical communication skills to produce clear design docs and reports.

Qualifications

Six years of direct experience as a controls engineer in manufacturing.
Experience designing automation controls systems (PLC, SCADA).
Knowledge of UL508A panel design and fabrication.
Strong communication and engineering documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Develop automation solutions across design, configuration, testing, and start-up.
Design automation control systems and create project drawings to meet client requirements.
Diagnose automation problems and interface with teams and vendors.
Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA.
Manage project deliverables, schedules and site start-up.
Validate and commission facility systems and turnover to customers.
