Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Companies Inc. BW Design Group is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer to join our Control System Integration Practice. You will design automation control systems, lead projects, and collaborate with a team of industry experts to deliver high‑quality solutions for manufacturing clients.

The role requires seven+ years of automation experience (HMI/SCADA/PLCs), strong client interaction, and willingness to travel for installation and startup activities. A BS in engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

A minimum of seven years of related automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLCs, and general control system design.
Packaging and process controls experience in consumer products, life sciences, or beverage/food industries (preferred).
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, PanelView/PanelviewPlus HMIs, Ethernet networks, and industrial communication protocols.

Responsibilities

Design automation control systems; develop project specifications, documentation, and drawings for high-speed and automated manufacturing processes.
Lead software configuration, testing, commissioning, installation, and start-up phases of automation projects.
Manage project execution, including team leadership, SCADA design, PLC/HMI programming, and site start-up support.
