Job summary

Thermo Systems LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer III to support design, integration, and delivery of automation projects across industrial environments. You will lead tasks within small to mid-sized projects and provide engineering expertise across design, implementation, testing, and commissioning phases.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commissioning teams to ensure safe, reliable delivery aligned with requirements, with opportunity to grow into senior leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Typically 4+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or system integration environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering tasks or small project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Lead and perform FAT for automation systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics; provide field feedback.
• Develop and implement HMI and PLC-based automation solutions.
• Contribute to design and implementation of complex control systems.
• Provide instrumentation specifications for automation and control system designs.
• Review technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Deliver assigned engineering tasks on schedule and within scope.
• Identify technical challenges and propose solutions.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning teams.
• Communicate with customers and partners throughout project lifecycles.
• Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects.
• Provide updates on progress, risks, and challenges to leadership.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
