Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Control System Integration Practice. You will design automation control systems, lead software configuration and commissioning, and manage site start-up while partnering with clients to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will leverage Rockwell expertise, FactoryTalk and Wonderware tools, and strong communication skills. Travel about 40% will be required to support installations and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Seven years of related automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLCs, and general control system design.
• Experience with consumer products, life sciences, or beverage/food industries preferred.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLC5, SLC500) and HMIs.
• Familiarity with FactoryTalk Suite, IntellutionSuite, Wonderware, and programming languages.
• Ability to interact with clients and work under high intensity environments.

Responsibilities

• Design automation control systems, develop specs, docs, and drawings for high-speed manufacturing processes.
• Lead software configuration, testing, commissioning, installation, and start-up.
• Own project execution including team leadership, SCADA design, PLC/HMI programming, site start-up.
• Maintain and grow client relationships and support during projects.
• Troubleshoot packaging lines, process systems, and software systems.
• Travel for installation/start-up and client meetings as required.
