Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Controls & Automation) to lead client projects across the US. You will manage design, programming, and commissioning activities, driving quality, schedules, and client satisfaction within a fast-growing practice.

You will mentor engineers, develop business in the local office, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-value automation solutions for industrial clients across manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of automation solution experience in consumer products or industrial design.
• Experience designing electrical control systems and programming automation.
• Proficiency with Rockwell hardware and software solutions.
• Experience with Siemens, Wonderware and GE software/hardware (preferred).
• Experience in food & beverage, pulp & paper, or other industrial industries (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with all management levels.
• Willingness to travel for project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage project tasks including hardware and panel design, PLC and HMI programming, SCADA design, power distribution, and documentation.
• Oversee proposal prep, estimating, scheduling, resources, staffing, contracts, orders, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure proper use of facilities and lead growth of the controls & automation business in the local office and region.
• Mentor professionals; provide feedback, evaluation, training, and career development guidance.
• Participate in councils to oversee firm-wide standards and strategic planning.
• Coordinate with recruiting to hire into the controls & automation group and report quarterly to partners.
• Convey Barry-Wehmiller Design Group's culture and leadership principles to clients and staff.
