Job summary

Design Group is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer in Austin, TX to design automation control systems, develop specifications, and support high-speed manufacturing projects.

You will work with a team and directly with clients to deliver high-quality solutions across stages from software configuration to startup. You will lead project execution, coordinate SCADA design and PLC/HMI programming, and travel up to 40% for installation and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong experience in automation systems, HMI/SCADA, PLCs, and control design.
• Ability to interact with clients and lead projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design automation control systems and create specs, docs, and drawings for high-speed manufacturing processes.
• Lead software/configuration, testing, commissioning, installation, and startup phases of automation projects.
• Own project execution including team leadership, SCADA design, PLC/HMI programming, and site startup support.
