Job summary

Automationtechies is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the design, development, and commissioning of advanced control systems for packaging automation. You’ll mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact automation solutions on customer projects.

You will design PLC/HMI architectures, implement control strategies, and test systems on the manufacturing floor, ensuring performance and reliability while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in controls engineering in industrial automation/manufacturing.
• Strong PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
• Experience developing HMI applications and integrating control systems.
• Familiarity with PID/motion control and industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in US/Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC and HMI control systems for custom machinery.
• Create control strategies to meet project requirements.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, and industrial devices with standard languages.
• Test, commission, troubleshoot, and optimize automation systems.
• Integrate hardware/software components for reliable operation.
