Job summary

Catalyx is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer in Gaithersburg, MD, with 4+ years of hands-on experience in control systems. The role requires PLC programming and troubleshooting, with exposure to SCADA, DCS, or Data Historian platforms.

You will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions while maintaining documentation and supporting system upgrades. Ideal candidates will diagnose hardware/software issues, develop robust control strategies, and collaborate across engineering

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant controls, automation, or instrumentation experience.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with at least one of: SCADA, DCS, or Data Historian.
• Strong control system hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Experience developing and updating technical/design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC and control systems.
• Design and troubleshoot SCADA, DCS, or Data Historian systems.
• Troubleshoot control system hardware and software.
• Perform engineering design and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
• Write, update, and maintain control system design and engineering documentation.
• Support system modifications, upgrades, testing, and commissioning.
