Job summary

Cloudbreak Energy is seeking a highly experienced Controller to own and manage all accounting functions as the company scales its development and operating portfolio in Boulder, CO. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will ensure GAAP-compliant financial records, manage external auditors, and drive timely financial statements for lenders and partners.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, with renewable energy experience across development and operating assets.
• Direct experience accounting for assets financed with debt and tax equity.
• Experience building or scaling an accounting function at a growth-stage company.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; public accounting plus industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage all accounting functions across Cloudbreak Energy, including the general ledger, month-end and year-end close, accounts payable/receivable, payroll accounting, and maintenance of books prepared under U.S. GAAP.
• Manage external audit process end to end, as primary contact for auditors and audit-ready schedules.
• Coordinate preparation of audited and unaudited financial statements under U.S. GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Apply U.S. GAAP to development and operating assets, including debt and tax equity financing and revenue recognition.
