Job summary

Sunrock Distributed Generation seeks a Controller to own audit, JV entities, payroll, AP, and all financial reporting. You will work with finance, asset management, sales and marketing to support planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring.

The role reports to the CEO with potential to advance into a leadership position, in a hybrid, US-wide remote-friendly setup with occasional in-person meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
• CPA credential required.
• 6+ years’ experience in renewable energy.
• Expertise with tax equity and M&A transactions.
• Experience overseeing accounting, tax, treasury, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Experience setting up accounting for project companies, SPVs, and LLCs.
• Strong analytical abilities and ability to summarize complex analyses for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities.
• Prepare consolidated and standalone financial statements per US GAAP.
• Oversee financial reporting for executives, lenders, investors, and board.
• Develop and maintain 13-week and 12-month cash flow forecasts.
• Administer treasury activities with internal controls.
• Perform complex accounting analyses including depreciation, revenue recognition, and HLBV.
• Direct payroll accounting and annual tax reporting (W-2, 1099).
• Coordinate external audits, tax compliance, and insurance administration.
• Maintain internal controls and improve close processes and documentation.
• Monitor investor capital activity and ownership reporting.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic insights for business initiatives.
