Job summary

Quantum Space in Rockville, Maryland seeks an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls as the company grows.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, financial statement preparation, and government contracting. This role oversees accounting operations, ensures SEC and SOX compliance, and strengthens processes and controls.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required
• 8+ years of accounting experience in a growth or government contracting environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX compliance

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, revenue recognition, and monthly/quarterly/annual close.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and board packages per U.S. GAAP.
• Lead SEC reporting and disclosures, including Form 10-Q/10-K, with SOX compliance oversight.
• Manage internal/external audits, SOX testing, and control remediation.
• Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and cost proposals; support program budgets.
