Job summary

Jobot in Portland, OR is seeking a Controller to oversee all accounting activities, financial reporting, and compliance. You will ensure GAAP adherence, manage internal controls, coordinate audits, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual statements to senior leadership.

The role collaborates with program VPs on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, supporting the CFO with board-related matters and grant budget alignment. This is an on-site, permanent role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance is required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience; 6+ preferred.
• Final responsibility for the quality and content of financial data, reporting, and audit coordination.
• Ability to translate financial concepts to non-finance colleagues.
• Experience with grants management and compliance reporting.
• Tech-savvy with software installations and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Maintain internal controls for revenue, costs, and budgets.
• Coordinate all audit activity.
• Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior leadership.
• Assist budgeting and planning; compare plans to actual results and explain variances.
• Support CFO with board audit and finance committees on trends and models.
• Oversee accounting for projects, grants, and expenditures per budgets.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and collaborate with VPs to optimize operations.
• Track invested assets in line with policies and investment guidelines.
