Job summary

Journal Graphics, Inc. is seeking a Controller to lead financial strategy and execution in Portland, OR. You will guide budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while managing a small finance team and collaborating with executive leadership to shape the company’s future.

The role requires deep GAAP knowledge, ERP experience, and a hands-on leader who can balance detail with strategic planning. Strong communication and a commitment to integrity are essential for success in this family‑owned,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years as Controller or higher.
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and sales/use tax.
Experience managing finance in a complex ERP environment.
CPA preferred; manufacturing or public accounting background is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee monthly close and produce financial statements for leadership and board.
Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for profitable planning.
Provide profitability analysis and strategic insights to senior management.
Coordinate with outside accounting firm for annual review and audits.
Oversee inventory, tax filings, and investment committee activities.
Manage AR, cash collections, billing, and job costing processes.
Supervise reconciliations of G/L accounts and AP/expense processes.
