Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting seeks a seasoned Controller to lead accounting, treasury, financial reporting and reconciliations for a fast-growing tech company. The role reports to the CFO and supports building a finance organization that scales with growth.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in accounting, including 3+ in leadership, with a strong U.S. GAAP background and experience coordinating with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA preferred.
• Eight or more years of accounting experience, including three or more in a leadership role.
• Experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience working with external auditors.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite or a similar system.

Responsibilities

• Direct the month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable and payroll accounting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee cash management, liquidity, forecasting and banking relationships.
• Manage account reconciliations and resolve open items in a timely manner.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Manage external audits, tax advisors and regulatory examinations.
• Develop accounting policies, procedures and scalable processes.
• Lead and develop the accounting staff.
