Job summary

Emerald Auto Holdings is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations across multiple locations. You will own month-end close, build schedules, manage cash visibility, and drive internal controls.

This is a high-responsibility role reporting to the CFO with two direct reports and cross-functional collaboration with finance and operations. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of accounting leadership, strong Excel and ERP experience, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required with substantial coursework.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including month-end close and GL ownership.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge including accruals, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Experience building accounting schedules, reconciliations, and processes.
• Hands-on cash management and cash flow forecasting experience.
• Experience supervising accounting staff and overseeing AP/AR functions.
• Advanced Excel skills, complex reconciliations, and data analysis.
• Attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute monthly close, maintain close calendar, deliverables, and deadlines.
• Build and maintain accounting schedules and workpapers (accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases).
• Prepare and post recurring, adjusting, and month-end journal entries.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Establish policies, procedures, and internal controls for the GL and close.
• Ensure GL accuracy and timely monthly financial reporting.
• Identify and correct historical accounting issues and process gaps.
• Lead AP/AR processes and oversee two accounting team members.
• Oversee vendor payments, terms, reconciliations, and cash applications.
• Own rebates tracking, accruals, collections, and documentation.
