Job summary

Adamson Ahdoot LLP is seeking a seasoned Controller in Los Angeles to own the accounting function, lead a four-person team, and drive financial controls and reporting for a high-volume plaintiff-side firm. You will oversee trust accounting, AP, settlements, and cost recovery, integrating Salesforce, QBO, QSF, and Tableau to deliver reliable financial data.

The role focuses on building a disciplined close, strengthening internal controls, and delivering executive-ready financials.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a controller or senior accounting manager role.
• Demonstrated track record building/improving accounting processes and controls.
• Hands-on experience using accounting/operational technology to reduce manual work (integrations, automated reconciliations, BI reporting).
• Deep proficiency in QuickBooks Online and trust accounting; experience with IOLTA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and develop four direct reports: AP Specialist (x2), Bookkeeper, and Trust Accountant.
• Own the monthly close end to end: GL accuracy, reconciliations, accruals, financial statements.
• Design and enforce internal controls across accounting functions and ensure audit readiness.
• Lead cross-system integration efforts (Salesforce, QuickBooks Online, QSF) and BI reporting.
• Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports for leadership.
